September 9 2025Swan Hill Pickleball for ALL Abilities
Mallee Sports Assembly recently launched a new four-week all-abilities pickleball program at the Swan Hill Stadium, beginning on Monday, 18 August 2025. This initiative is proudly supported by Sport & Recreation Victoria, through the Access for All Abilities program, which aims to increase opportunities for people of all abilities to participate in community sport and recreation. Pickleball, a fast-growing sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, was identified as a fun and accessible option for participants in the region.
The program provides an opportunity for people with disability to develop new skills, enjoy physical activity, and engage socially in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The opening session attracted sixteen participants, with attendees from WeAreVivid services in Swan Hill and Kerang. Activities included warm-up drills, skill development, and games tailored to meet a wide range of needs. Modified equipment, such as varied balls, were introduced to ensure that everyone could be actively involved. A session of modified volleyball was also included to add variety and keep participants engaged. Participate, Feel GREAT!
