Together More Active
Mallee Sports Assembly is funded by Sport and Recreation Victoria through the Together More Active program to assist organisations in the sport and active recreation sector with initiatives that increase inclusive participation and enhance the sector capability, across the Mallee.
Together More Active supports greater participation outcomes by focusing on two overarching themes:
- Building a more sustainable sport and active recreation sector; and
- Increasing the equity, diversity and inclusiveness of the sport and active recreation industry in Victoria.
Building a more sustainable sport and active recreation sector
Mallee Sports will build a more resilient, connected and sustainable sport and active recreation sector across the Mallee that is supported by a capable volunteer and paid workforce by:
- Providing specialist club development advice and one to one support
- Providing specialist advice and workforce (paid and volunteer) development opportunities
- Working in partnership with local government authorities and Sport and Recreation Victoria Regional teams to activate targeted sports infrastructure projects e.g. club-based participation action plans.
Increasing equity, diversity and inclusiveness of the sport and active recreation industry
Mallee Sports will increase equity, diversity and inclusiveness of sport and active recreation across the Mallee by:
- Establishing and supporting inclusive and sustainable participation opportunities for people with disability
- Supporting the sport and recreation and disability community through provision of specialist inclusion advice (AAA) and one to one support
- Supporting the sport and active recreation community through provision of specialist inclusion advice (AAA) and workforce development opportunities (workshops)
