Responsible Servicing of Alcohol Course – Charlton Golf Club

Due to a high demand for a face-to-face “Responsible Serving of Alcohol” course, the Mallee Sports Assembly, in partnership with Peter Rosenthal from Short Courses Australia, facilitated a course in Charlton.  The Charlton Golf Club agreed to host a workshop in the Buloke Shire and arranged light refreshments for the evening. Thank you to the Charlton Golf Club and their volunteers for their assistance and for the use of their wonderful venue.

During the Workshop, Peter covered the following RSA Principles:- Recognise and refuse liquor service to intoxicated patrons; Drunk and disorderly patrons are not allowed on premises; Do not supply liquor to anyone under 18 years of age; and Discourage patrons from taking part in activities that may cause harm to themselves and others. Peter also informed the participants of the offences as according to the “Liquor Control Reform Act 1998” (from July 2017) and the relevant penalties.

Thank you, Peter, for travelling up to the “bush” to facilitate this workshop. Congratulations to the 15 participants from nine different sporting clubs for being very proactive to increase their skills for the responsible serving of alcohol in their respective sporting clubs.
