2026 Swan Hill Inclusive Club Coaching Workshop

Mallee Sports Assembly attended Swan Hill College on Thursday 23 April to deliver an Inclusive Clubs Workshop to 21 Year 10 VET Fitness students. The session formed part of the students’ preparation for supporting the 2026 Swan Hill All Abilities Bowls Carnival.

Participants explored what makes a club inclusive, identified common barriers to participation, and developed practical strategies to modify sport and recreation activities to ensure people of all abilities can be actively involved. The workshop also encouraged students to consider how inclusive practices can create welcoming and supportive environments within local sporting clubs and community events.

“This workshop fits well into our curriculum, giving students practical skills in inclusion that they can apply when supporting community events like the All Abilities Bowls Carnival,” said James Downing.
