Congratulations, Judy Osborne – January 2026 Monthly Winner – Lawn Bowls

Congratulations to Judy Osborne, who has been named the January 2026 Monthly Winner – Lawn Bowls in the 2026 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star Awards.

Judy earned the recognition following her outstanding performance in the Sunraysia Champion of Champions Singles, held at Coomealla Bowls Club on 3–4 January.

After receiving a first-round bye, Judy progressed through the competition with a convincing 25–15 victory in round two. She then staged a determined comeback in the semi-final to defeat her opponent 25–19 and secure a place in the final.

In the championship match, Judy faced Janet Vallance from Ouyen in a replay of the previous season’s decider. In a high-quality and closely contested contest, Judy prevailed 25–20 to claim the Sunraysia Champion of Champions Singles title. The event showcased the region’s elite female bowlers, bringing together champions from 11 clubs and a field of more than 200 participants.

Judy’s latest achievement adds to an exceptional season. She recently claimed her seventh Mildura Bowls Club Singles Championship, including her fifth consecutive title, and her twentieth club singles championship overall. The Champion of Champions victory also secured her sixth Sunraysia Singles title.

Judy will next compete in the Murray Mallee Regional Finals in March and has also progressed to the District Final of the Women’s State Singles, where she will continue her impressive season.

As the January Monthly Winner, Judy received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and now becomes a finalist for the 2026 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards – Peter Manolas Trophy.
