Congratulations, Airlei Taylor – February 2026 Monthly Winner – Softball

Airlei earned the February honour following her impressive performance at the South Australian Junior State Championships, held in Mount Barker from 20–22 February. Competing as an invited player with the Adelaide Hills Under 18 team, she played a significant role in the side’s success as they finished runners-up in the highly competitive five-team championship.

Her selection follows an exceptional start to 2026. In January, Airlei represented the Sunraysia B Grade team at the South Australian Country Championships, where the team remained undefeated throughout the tournament before claiming the premiership from a strong seven-team competition.

Adding to an already remarkable season, Airlei was also a member of the Sunraysia Gold team that captured the Riverland Softball Association A Grade Premiership. Sunraysia Gold defeated Sunraysia Pink 8–1 in the grand final at Berri, completing a dominant campaign for the association.

Airlei’s dedication, consistency and ability to perform at a high level across multiple elite competitions make her a deserving recipient of the February Sports Star award.

As the February Monthly Winner, Airlei received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and now becomes a finalist for the 2026 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards – Peter Manolas Trophy.
