Congratulations Ava Zadow September 2025 Sports Star of the month

September capped off a remarkable season for Ava, with her performances recognised at the highest level across both netball and basketball. Her dominance on the netball court was rewarded with the Horkings Medal, acknowledging her as the Sunraysia Football Netball League’s best and fairest after a consistently elite season in which she finished eight votes clear of second place. Ava polled strongly all season at both ends of the court, starting the season in defence but finishing in the attacking third with 344 goals in total.

In the same month, Ava’s rise in basketball was confirmed when she was named Big V Division One Youth Player of the Year. Playing with the Mildura Heat, she established herself as a key contributor, averaging 11.5 points per game and 9.44 rebounds per game – placing her seventh in the division for rebounds across all players.

As the September winner, Ava received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and is now eligible for the 2025 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards Peter Manolas Trophy to be announced at the Awards Gala Night on Frida,y February 20, 202,6 at the Club Da Vinci, Mildura
