December 17 20252025 International Day of People with Disability – MILDURA
All Abilities Sports DayThe community came together on 2 December 2025 for a vibrant All Abilities Come and Try Sports Day at Hothouse Stadium, offering a welcoming space for people of all ages and abilities to get active and connect. The event ran from 10am-12pm and featured a broad mix of activities, including wheelchair basketball, indoor soccer, dancing, mini games, and craft-based activities such as badge-making. Mallee Sports Assembly led indoor soccer using an oversized soft ball and cone goals to make the game more accessible. Between 40 and 50 people took part in the event over the two hours.Participants moved through activity rotations, supported by staff and volunteers from Intereach, Leisure Networks, Mallee Sports Assembly, Lifely, ValueCare, SDA, MRCC, and other local partners. Engagement tools such as a “smiley or frown” feedback vote and a stamp-card system encouraged participation, with small gifts and giveaways provided by contributing agencies. The day was further supported by donated equipment, water bottles, fruit, and additional resources from community organisations.Participate, Feel GREAT!
