2024 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards

Bodey Burnham has been selected as the 2024 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year for the month of September. Mildura Brazilian Jiu Jitsu nominated Bodey.

Bodey traveled to Adelaide to compete in the AFBJJ South Australian State Titles. He participated in both Gi and No Gi weight divisions and the Absolute divisions (open to all weight categories). Bodey secured two gold medals in his weight divisions, finishing all his matches by submission. He also earned a silver medal in the Gi Absolute category but came up short in the No Gi Absolute division.

Earlier in the year Bodey travelled to compete in the Central Coast BJJ Open, winning two silver medals. Additionally, in his final competition of the year at Savage Grappling in Melbourne, Bodey won eight of his nine fights with four being by submission. In his four divisions, Bodey headed home with a haul of three goal medals and one bronze.

As the September winner Bodey received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and is now eligible for the 2024 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Award – Peter Manolas Trophy
