June 4 20262026 Swan Hill All Abilities Bowls Carnival
Swan Hill All Abilities Lawn Bowls Carnival a Great Success
The Mallee Sports Assembly held its All Abilities Lawn Bowls Carnival on Tuesday 12 May at the Swan Hill Racecourse Bowls Club, with 55 participants enjoying a fantastic day of fun, friendship and inclusive sport under beautiful sunny skies.
Bowlers attended from Swan Hill Specialist School, We Are Vivid, Swan Hill Discoveries, Accomplish Support and Seek Adventure Support Services, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for everyone involved.
The event was supported by first-year VET Sport, Aquatics and Recreation students from Swan Hill College. The students had previously participated in the Mallee Sports Assembly Inclusive Club Workshop on 10 April, where they developed practical skills and knowledge around creating inclusive sporting environments. Their enthusiasm and assistance throughout the carnival helped ensure all participants were supported and encouraged to be involved.
Participants had the opportunity to enjoy three different lawn bowls experiences throughout the day. Modified bowls activities using Rookie Rollers equipment provided an accessible introduction to the sport, while casual lawn bowls on the main green allowed participants to develop their skills and enjoy social competition. For those seeking a greater challenge, eight keen bowlers competed in a fours competition to determine the inaugural champions.
After some impressive bowling and friendly rivalry, the team of Jojo, Kieran, Brownie and Brenno emerged victorious, claiming the honours in the first running of the fours competition.
Mallee Sports Assembly extends its sincere thanks to Norm Smith and the members of Swan Hill Racecourse Bowls Club for their outstanding support in coordinating the event and providing a wonderful lunch for all attendees. The efforts of the club volunteers helped make the carnival an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved.
