Congratulations, Jack Burford – November 2025 Sports Star of the Month – ATHLETICS

Jack’s November performances were highlighted by an outstanding showing at the 2025 Glenelg Classic 10km, a major event attracting more than 600 athletes from across Australia and overseas. Competing against a deep national field, Jack claimed 1st place in the 15–17-year-old age group and finished an impressive 5th overall out of 608 competitors.

His success continued at state level, where Jack competed at the Athletics SA State 5000m Championships across two categories. He secured 1st place in the Men’s 16–17 5000m and placed 7th in the Under 20 Men’s 5000m, performing strongly against older and more experienced athletes.

Beyond athletics, Jack has also enjoyed an outstanding year in tennis. In October, he represented the Sunraysia Academy of Sport in Tier 1 of the Victorian Regional Academies of Sport Tennis Inter-Academy Challenge, where he claimed championship winner honours against the top academy players from across Victoria.

As the November winner, Jack received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and is now eligible for the 2025 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards Peter Manolas Trophy to be announced at the Awards Gala Night on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Club Da Vinci, Mildura
