Congratulations Shania McKinnon, August 2025 Sports Star of the month

Shania was a standout performer at the top of the order for the Mildura Settlers Women’s team, helping guide them through a dominant season where they lost just one game before taking out the grand final.

Her consistency and composure saw her pile on 446 runs for the season while being dismissed only twice, while also taking eight wickets with the ball. Shania’s form was a driving force behind the Settlers’ success and didn’t go unnoticed beyond the region. In August, she was rewarded with selection in the Victorian Country Cricket League (VCCL) Team of the Year, recognising the best country cricketers from across Victoria.

As the August winner Shania received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and is now eligible for the 2025 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards Peter Manolas Trophy to be held on Friday February 20, 2026; at the Club Da Vinci, Mildura
