2024 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards

Jaimon Lidsey – Speedway (Solo)

Jaimon Lidsey has been selected as the 2024 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year for the month of December.  Jaimon was nominated by the Mildura Motorcycle Club.

Jaimon won the Victorian Solo Championship at Olympic Park Speedway, Mildura, competing against a strong field of 19 riders. He dominated the event, scoring a perfect 15 points by winning all his heat races, which secured him direct entry into the A Final with first gate pick. Jaimon went on to win the A Final, earning the title of Victoria’s top speedway solo rider for the third time.

In 2024, Jaimon played a key role in helping the Belle Vue Aces secure the Speedway Great Britain Premiership. In December, he also competed in the Jason Lyons Trophy and the Phil Crump Solo Classic, finishing as runner-up in both events in front of a supportive home crowd at Olympic Park.

As the December winner, Jaimon received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and is now eligible for the  Peter Manolas Trophy to be announced at the 2024 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Nothern Mallee Sports Star Award to be held on Friday February 21, 2025; at the Club Da Vinci, Mildura
