Congratulations Maddi Boyer for winning the July 2023 Sports Star ⭐️ of the Month Award 🏆

MADDI Boyer has been selected as the 2023 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year for the month of July.

Boyer was nominated by Mildura Water Ski Club.

She competed at the European Championships Series – Diamond Race in Belgium on July 2 and received a gold medal in the open women’s division.

Boyer was funded to fly to Europe and ski for a European team in its European championships over a two-week period.

On July 15 she took the gold medal for first place in the open women’s division of the Austria Championships held in Krems, Austria.

Later that month she was crowned European champion in the open women’s division, taking home gold from the European Championship Series.

Boyer is an extremely talented athlete who devotes hours to her training on a weekly schedule while running a successful physiotherapy and rehabilitation business.

It is challenging being a competitive water ski racer at the top of the sport as they are not paid athletes.

It is a credit to Boyer that she has been selected by an international European team and been funded to travel to Europe to compete.

She is currently the number-one-ranked female skier in Victoria and Australia and will be competing for a world title in November.

As the July winner Boyer received a voucher proudly sponsored by Intersport and is now eligible for the 2023 Community Bank Merbein & District 97.9 Triple M Northern Mallee Sports Star of the Year Awards to be held on Friday February 16 2024 at the Club Da Vinci, Mildura.
